My name is Shinobu Yajima (tea name: Souno Yajima). I have been studying the way of tea (urasenke) for more than 15 years. Three years ago, we created a Japanese tea room in Twello, Gelderland, where I offer ongoing tea lessons as well as special workshops.

My main purpose is to create a space where people can experience the Way of Tea and learn about its beautiful culture and traditions. At the same time, I hope to provide a place for Japanese people living here to feel at home, relax, and reconnect with their culture through tea practice.

Matcha is becoming increasingly popular all over the world. However, the Way of Tea is not only about drinking Matcha. It is about harmony, respect, purity and tranquility - and about sharing a peaceful moment together.
